Star Fish

aquarium.jpgCinemarr Entertainment recently earned a TELLY Award for the current Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies commercial entitled "Star Fish". The project, directed and produced by S. Shane Marr of Cinemarr Entertainment and shot by director of photography Randall Dark, features a mixture of live action and animation in the 30 second commercial.

“Star Fish” earned its TELLY Award in the Travel/Tourism division.

“This is the thirteenth TELLY Award for Cinemarr Entertainment,” says Marr. “We are proud that a company as locally and nationally prestigious as Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies chose to work with a production company in their own backyard. By working together locally, we were able to produce the commercial less expensively – which is important in this economy – while still producing award winning work.”

"Telling a story in 30 seconds is a daunting task, however Shane had a clear vision of what he wanted thus making my job much easier" said director of photography Dark.  "I look forward to working with Cinemarr Entertainment again in the near future.”

The 30 second commercial was one of three scripts created by the Cinemarr script writers.

It is the story of a ‘little fish’ who thinks she is a ‘star’ and the thousands of people who visit Ripley’s Aquarium come there only to see her. The project also incorporated the little Star fish and her friend into a second promotional Lethal weapons commercial at the same time when producing the original commercial.

Founded in 1978, the TELLY Awards is the premier award honoring outstanding cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online film and video. The TELLY Awards annually showcases the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, interactive agencies, and corporate video departments in the world. The TELLY Awards receives over 13,000 entries annually from all 50 states and countries around the world. It is a remarkable achievement to be selected for recognition.

The little ‘Star Fish’ commercial is being shown in many markets across the country.
